The City of Frostburg, as required by State Law, collects the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fee from each of the City's utility customers. More information about the Bay Restoration Fee can be found on Maryland Department of the Environment's website.
Annual Exemption Application - 2024
The City of Frostburg is accepting applications for the annual Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fee Exemption for low income residents. To be eligible for the Exemption, residents of the City of Frostburg must complete an application and submit at least two of the required documents to verify their income status. The documents include evidence of receiving Energy Assistance during the last winter; receiving SSI or Food Stamps; receiving Veterans or Social Security Disability Benefits; receiving the State Homeowner Property Tax Credit. All applications must be received no later than Friday, July 5, 2024. Applications are available at the link below or by visiting City Hall. If a resident has questions about the Exemption Application they may call City Hall at 301-689-6000. The Exemption is provided for under Maryland State Law, but must be renewed annually. Applications may be returned to City Hall or emailed to cityhall@frostburgcity.org.
