Budget Ordinance - Public Hearing

CITY OF FROSTBURG

ORDINANCE 2024-01

The Mayor and City Council for the City of Frostburg will conduct a Public Hearing during their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be held at 37 Broadway, in the Meeting Room of the Frostburg Municipal Center.  The meeting will also be live streamed on the City's YouTube channel.   Those wishing to offer public comment may attend the meeting or submit comments in writing, attn: City Administrator, 37 Broadway, Frostburg, MD 21532 or email comments@frostburgcity.org.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear public comments on Ordinance 2024-01 which was introduced before the Mayor and City Council during their meeting on April 16, 2024:

ORDINANCE 2024-01 - Fiscal Year 2025 Operating Budget and Schedule of Rates and Fees, including the Corporate, Water, Sewer, Garbage and Water Surcharge Funds Operating Budgets for the City of Frostburg.  The FY 2025 Budget includes various projects to be completed with grants and American Rescue Plan Act Funds. The proposed Budget maintains the City's current tax rate of $0.70 and maintains the personal property tax rate. Changes to utility rates include an increase in the monthly garbage collection fee to $16 per month ($0.33 increase) and the special garbage collection fee to $75.00; other rates will remain unchanged.
